PSAT Score Release Information

Dear 8th grade parent/guardian,

Join us in congratulating your child for successfully completing the PSAT 8/9 test! This is the first of many College Board standardized exams they will encounter throughout their high school academic career. Now that your child has completed their first College Board test, it is important to create an account. The College Board no longer provides printed copies of test results; all results can be accessed through your account in the College Board portal. The results of your child’s PSAT 8/9 test are also available on PowerSchool under the Academic Records tab. Click on the Test Score Summary link to view. 

Why create a College Board account:

The creation of a College Board account is an important step in your child’s academic career. Registering an account will afford students the opportunity to take advantage of the College Board’s resources and online score reports. When creating a College Board account, we strongly encourage students to use a personal email address, not their LHPREP email address. With an account, students can: 

• Access individualized instruction and practice from Khan Academy free of charge. 
• Register for future College Board tests including:
  • SAT
  • Advanced Placement (AP) Tests

How to create a College Board account:

We strongly encourage you to set up the account with your 8th grader present, allowing them to take the lead. Please be sure to record the email and password in a safe place, accessible to parents and your student. You will also create a "security phrase." Make sure to keep this with your email/password in the event you need to call College Board for account information. Parents, once you log into the College Board website, you will see that there are options to include parent communication as well.  

Important: When creating your College Board student account, the student should use their full name, not a nick name or shortened version of the name. 

The steps to create a student account with the College Board are as follows:

• Visit www.collegeboard.org
• Select “Create an Account”
• Select I am a “Student”
• Complete the “General Student Information” 
• Complete the “Parent Information” 
• Follow the steps from there to navigate the website
